Overcrank does not collect any data. It runs entirely on your iPhone and Apple Watch and talks directly to your GoPro. There is no Overcrank account, no Overcrank server, and no analytics. Nothing you do in the app is transmitted to us or to any third party, because there is nowhere for it to be transmitted to — the app has no backend.
Bluetooth. Used to find and control your GoPro: starting and stopping recording, changing settings, and reading camera status. Bluetooth is used only to communicate with your camera. It is never used for tracking, advertising, or proximity analytics.
Local network / Wi-Fi. Your GoPro broadcasts its own Wi-Fi network. Overcrank joins that network to stream the live preview and to browse and download media from the camera. This traffic goes directly between your device and your camera. It does not pass through the internet or through us.
Photo library (add-only). When you download a clip or photo from your camera, Overcrank saves it to your photo library. Overcrank requests add-only access — it cannot read, browse, or upload your existing photos.
Health (Apple Watch, Adventure Mode only). Adventure Mode starts a workout session so watchOS keeps the connection to your camera alive during long recordings. This is the standard mechanism for sustained background activity on Apple Watch. The workout data stays in Apple Health on your device. Overcrank does not read your health history and does not transmit health data anywhere. If you never turn on Adventure Mode, no health data is involved at all.
Your camera presets and app settings are stored locally on your devices and synced between your iPhone and Apple Watch using Apple's WatchConnectivity, which is a direct device-to-device link. They are not backed up to us.
Overcrank Pro is a one-time in-app purchase handled entirely by Apple. Payment is processed by Apple under Apple's privacy policy. Overcrank receives only an anonymous confirmation from the App Store that the purchase is valid. We never see your name, payment details, or Apple Account.
Overcrank contains no analytics SDKs, no advertising SDKs, no crash-reporting services, and no third-party trackers.
Overcrank is rated 4+ and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
